DIAMOND GUIDES

The 4Cs

A Graff diamond is crafted to capture and reflect light with flawless brilliance, fire, and radiance. The Maison's distinct creative vision is rooted in unparalleled expertise. This meticulous process is informed by the standards set by the Gemological Institute of America, known as the 4Cs. Through this, Graff ensures that its GIA-certified diamonds meet the highest criteria for Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat.

Diamond Cut

The cut and shape of a diamond determine its appearance and are important factors to consider. The cut should always be perfectly balanced, with symmetrical mirror-like facets. The shape establishes how light is reflected and refracted through the stone, which determines its overall brilliance and lustre.

The cut of a diamond also determines its shape and is extremely important to its overall beauty. Our expert artisans are among the best in the world and they apply their skills to craft perfectly balanced silhouettes and symmetrical mirror-like facets that display optimum radiance.

Diamond Carat

Diamond carat weight is a measure of the size or mass of a diamond. It is one of the four essential factors determining a diamond's quality, along with cut, colour, and clarity, typically referred to as the 4Cs.

Carat is the unit of measurement used to describe a diamond’s weight and is equal to 0.2 grams. From perfectly proportioned stones of less than one carat to extraordinary gems weighing over 100 carats, each Graff diamond is a true masterpiece.

Diamond Colour

When evaluating a diamond, colour is a crucial factor to consider, with the brilliance of a white diamond further enhanced by the absence of colour.

The most highly regarded white diamonds are completely, or close to completely, colourless. Graded on a scale from D to Z, most Graff diamonds range between D and G – the rarest and most sought-after grades.

Diamond Clarity

Clarity measures the number, size, position and colour of inclusions and blemishes on the surface of a diamond; the clarity grading scale forms an essential part of the 4Cs of diamond quality.

Graff diamonds are exceptionally pure; many are Flawless or display minute inclusions that are invisible to the naked eye.
